Confessions Of A Professional Master of Ceremonies --- December 31 2012

President Rawlings doesn't really like going to public functions.  Met his wife and family at the Movenpick Hotel's New Year dinner and that's what she revealed when I asked about him.  He did turn up before midnight though.  Magnetic personality.  Hotel staff falling over themselves to take a photo with probably Ghana's most popular celebrity.

Event itself was enthralling.  Breathtaking winter-themed setting (minus the sub-zero temperatures!) by Jandel.  Enough food to feed a village.  Entertainment was varied -  live music by the evergreen 25-years-and-still-going-strong Zuum Band; soulful sounds from the gospel acapella quartet Psalms;  free Azonto lessons from the Flash Mob for the 300 plus revelers;  body-contorting acrobatic show just before midnight and to cap everything, a spectacular fireworks display to sign out 2012 and welcome 2013.  My work was done by 1am.  Ended the old year and started the new one working.  Hope that's a good sign :)  Happy New Year to you!
